SUNY College at Old Westbury Panthers Mens Baseball triumphs over the CCNY Beavers as heard on OWWR!

On Saturday, March 10th, after a nearly two hour game delay, The SUNY College at Old Westbury Mens Panthers Baseball team beat the CCNY Beavers at the Jackie Robinson complex by a score of 4-1. Frank DiMaria improved to 2-0, striking out 9 in 7 strong innings while Paul Valerio extended his hitting streak to 11 games. John Angelino put the Panthers ahead for good in the 3rd inning with a two RBI double off of losing pitcher Alex David.

SUNY College at Old Westbury Panthers Mens Baseball falls to Kean University Cougars as heard on OWWR!

On Thursday, March 8th, the SUNY College at Old Westbury mens Panthers Baseball team lost to the Kean University Cougars in 10 innings by a score of 5-3 snapping the Panthers 5 game win streak. Tim Walsh threw 8 strong innings but did not factor into the decision as Stephen Chapter and Matthew Andress combined for 3 runs in 2 innings. The Panthers threatened in the bottom of the 9th but made costly mistakes on the basepaths, costing themselves a possible two runs and the win.

New Media Artist Heidi Boisvert Lectures at the SUNY College at Old Westbury!

 

On Monday, March 5th 2012 at the SUNY College at Old Westbury, new media artist Heidi Boisvert lectured and presented a variety of her works as a game designer, experimental filmmaker, writer and educator. Heidi was formerly the Multi-Media Director at Breakthrough, where she oversaw the production of a wide range of new media projects that helped raise awareness of pressing social issues. She designed the 3D social change game, ICED I Can End Deportation, about unfair U.S. immigration policies. Her latest initiative, America 2049, an alternative reality game on Facebook about pluralism is garnering headline attention. Most recently, Heidi founded and serves as the Creative Director of the Future Perfect Lab, a boutique creative agency that works with non-profits and educational institutions to develop imaginative and playful applications of integrated media and emerging technology. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Electronic Arts program at RPI.
