OWWR Wraps up "Downtown Sounds 2009" this Friday!

OWWR invites you to "Downtown Sounds 2009"! This month long concert series is brought to you by Old Westbury Web Radio, Old Westbury Television, The Glen Cove Business Improvement District, and title sponsor American Community Bank .

The last concert of this series is Friday, July 31, at 7:00 PM. The concert will feature Soul Sound Review, a high energy Mowtown group, with dynamic vocal harmonies and the musical styling of classic groups like the Temptations, the Four Tops and the Supremes.

The concert will be taking place in the Glen Cove Village Square, on the corner of Glen and School Street from 7 until 10 PM. If you cant make it down to Glen Cove, OWWR will be broadcasting from the concert live. We hope to see you there!

The official stations for the SUNY College at Old Westbury, OWWR, Old Westbury Web Radio, and OWTV, Old Westbury Television invite you to join us for the remainder of "Downtown Sounds 2009", brought to you by the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District, and American Community Bank.

All concerts are free and open to the public every Friday form 7 until 10 PM on the corners of Glen and School street in the "Village Square", in Glen Cove, NY. In the event of rain all shows are held in Glen Cove's City Hall, located at 9 Glen Street, Glen Cove, NY.

SUNY Chancellor Dr. Nancy L. Zimpher Visits the SUNY College at Old Westbury!

SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher visited the SUNY College at Old Westbury, as part of her continuing mission to visit all 64 SUNY schools. The Chancellor, toured the 604 acre campus with college President Dr. Calvin O. Butts III, followed by a press conference with students, and faculty.

Her speech focused on her mission to develop a strategic plan that will change the "SUNY brand image", and discussed the challenges and issues each school faces. Afterwards, Chancellor Zimpher opened the floor to the audience.
