In celebration of Women's History Month, spend an evening with a group of nine experienced female health care professionals, including three College at Old Westbury alumnae. They will be conducting a seminar, hosted by the Health & Society Program, called "Women in the Health Care Professions."

Dr. Alice Dreger is an historian and patient rights advocate, she is also a SUNY College at Old Westbury alumna class of 1990. Professor Dreger is a Professor of Clinical Medical Humanities and Bioethics at the Feinstein School of Medicine at Northwestern University.
Join us on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 3 pm in the Science Building, Rm. S-100, where Dr. Dreger will discuss three pediatric care issues involving social justice, sexuality, and children.In addition, she will also discuss babies born with "ambiguous genitalia", young children who behave in manners common to the "opposite" sex, and children who are short and healthy.

The Student Research Forum will feature the exchange of student research on the African American experience from the Black diaspora, slavery and its aftermath, and the civil rights movement. The forum will also feature a discussion on the issues that African Americans currently face.
