Thomas R. Suozzi arriving on Campus
Nassau County Executive Thomas R. Suozzi came to Old Westbury on Thursday, May 3 at the invitation of the School of Business. He was welcomed to the campus by the Dean of the School of Business Dr. N.J. Delener. Mr. Suozzi spoke before a crowd of students, faculty and staff in the recital hall of Campus Center. The vast majority of the students were business majors. Some of the business majors had submitted questions for Mr. Suozzi in advance.
Mr. Suozzi's speech was billed as a discussion of the "Economic and Social Challenges & Opportunities in Nassau County." He discussed property taxes, affordable housing, economic development, mass transit, and the difficulties posed by the complicated patchwork of local governments in Nassau county.
Mr. Suozzi was the inaugural speaker in the "SUNY College at Old Westbury School of Business Executive Speaker Series which seeks to bring business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and the public on a wide array of topics including entrepreneurship, ethics, business formation, and more."
