THE 15TH ANNUAL 2023 STUDENT MAC AWARDS!

SUNY Old Westbury is preparing for The 15th Annual 2023 Student MAC Awards!

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, 7 PM, (Zoom details to be released).

All work from students and recent alumni that were engaged in work from Tuesday, April 5th, 2022, onwards are eligible to earn an award.

Here is the schedule for the 2014 MAC Awards Show on Wednesday, May 7:

5:30-6:30pm   Dinner in the Campus Center Atrium for nominees, friends and family.   Have dinner with Visual Arts and Media & Communications faculty!    Open to Old Westbury students and their families.

6:00-7:00pm   Red Carpet festivities:   Stroll the Red Carpet into the Maguire theater and have your picture taken.

7:00pm-9:00pm      MAC Awards Show

Ron Capobianco Wins the 2012 Poster Competition!

Digital Arts Judge, Shih Chieh Huang, set to give artist talk at Old Westbury on Tuesday April 17th

Shih Chieh Huang, MAC Awards 2012 Digital Arts Judge, will discuss his recent work and the making process including his investigations into bio-luminescent life forms as part of the Artist Research Fellowship at the Smithsonian Institute.

He will speak on Tuesday, April 17th from 2:50-4:30 PM in the Recital Hall in the Campus Center.
All are invited to attend.

Taiwanese-born Shih Chieh Huang has exhibited his sculptures and installations at the Busan Biennial, Aichi Triennial, 52nd Venice Biennial Taiwan Pavilion, Biennial Zero1 San Jose, Biennial Cuvée in Austria, the ARC Biennial Australia, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York and MOCA Shanghai. His solo exhibitions have been held at Smithsonian Institute National Museum of Natural History, RISD Museum of Art, Beall Center for Art and Technology and MOCA Taipei. Huang’s awards include an Artist Research Fellowship from the Smithsonian Institution, a Creative Capital Grant, a Rockefeller Foundation New Media Arts Fellowship, a Joan Mitchell Foundation Sculpture Award, two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships and residencies at Art Omi, Skowhegan and The Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation.
