Twitter and IBM have announced a partnership. This partnership will transform businesses to understand their markets, customers, and customers.
In an interview Mediabistro reporter Shea Bennett, VP of Business Development at Twitter Chris Moody in a blog post, “From a data perspective, Twitter represents an enormous public archive of human thought that captures the ideas, opinions and debates taking place around the world on almost any topic at any moment in time. IBM is a global leader in helping companies take advantage of emerging technologies and platforms like Twitter.”
IBM and Twitter will join forces in order to find solutions for specific businesses such as banks, consumer products, and transportation and travel. In an interview Fortune reporter Tom Huddleston, Jr., IBM CEO Ginni Rometty said in a statement, “Twitter provides a powerful new lens through which to look at the world — as both a platform for hundreds of millions of consumers and business professionals, and as a synthesizer of trends." This partnership will not only help businesses change the way businesses decisions are made by identifying the emerging market opportunities but to better engage the clients, partners, and employees.
IBM needs these types of connections and solutions in order to be able to tap into new solutions, which means more consulting, software and hopefully hardware. According to New York Times, Chris Moody,VP of Business Development at Twitter commented, The goal is to improve and enhance business decision making. The world thinks in real time and Twitter's information resource should have nearly limitless uses and functions.
