Do you ever wonder how some Blogs grow more popular than others?
The world of sharing news and journalism has completely changed. We have gone from needing the radio or televison to keep up with the news to being able to access it on the internt. Well another feature that makes getting information easier are Blogs.
Many people view Blogs as a form of Citizens Journalism. Anyone can create them and write about anything that's happening whether it deals with current news or simple celebrity gossip. These Blogs become more popular as people view them and interact on the websites.
In an article titled "5 Creative Ways to Drive Traffic to Your Blog Posts" by Kimberely Reynolds for Socialmediaexamine.com it gives pointers on how anyone can create more traffic for their Blogs and what other social media platforms are great when it comes to creating Blog exposure.
For example many people navigate towards Facebook,Twitter and Linkedin when it comes to promoting there Blogs because its such a huge platform that's very popular amongst alot of people. But using this bigger platform to promote your Blog may not always be the best choice.
"you get a competitive advantage when you share your content on smaller or less well-known networks" writes Kimberely Reynolds. She explains that by using small networks such as Tumblr, Empire Avenue and Quora bloggers are able to expose their Blogs to the public without them getting over looked.
I have my own Blog and gettting people to read the Blog might be the hardest part in blogging. As a writer I write the posts with hope that people will read them and interact with the forum but that is not always the case. It takes a lot of promotion and patience to generate the type of traffic I want for my Blog.
Aside from the article about Blog promoting I also watched this Youtube video that speaks on ways to promote your Blog. The Youtube video is done by Amy Schmittauer and she highlights different techniques she uses when it comes to promoting her own Blog.
One technique she mentions is putting the link to your blog as a part of your email signature. I thought that was really creative since emailing is a major way peopel communicate.
why not use it as a form of promotion also !
