China: Its no secret that governments censor their media outlets, but to what extent? The business of "post deleting" or removing internet content has become big in China. So big in fact, it has become a multi-million dollar idea.
The Chinese government is known for having harsh restrictions on their media outlets. It has become a big business though. What was once a job for government officials has now turned into something else. The job of "post deleting" is partly controlled by public relations companies now, they keep watch of what goes on the internet in China, nd what comes down.
For these public relations companies, the price of censorship is big. For deleting one article it can cost up to ten thousand dollars. If you wanted to block it from being searched it would run you in the hundred thousands. Public relations companies like Beijing Qihang Internet do this for China's government. It seems cash is king, even when it means that the price to pay is freedom of speech.
