Najaf journalist in Iraq have opted to use a Facebook page as a way to share their stories and experiences. According to the Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR):
"Following the course, three of the trainees established a Facebook page for Najaf journalists which now has 137 members. Journalists are able to post and share their stories on the page, said Qasim al-Kaabi, an IWPR trainee and correspondent for the Baghdad-based newspaper, The Citizen."
The IWPR put together a course to teach these journalist what they call "social media." The journalists learned to keep in touch with each other using the network page to bounce off stories and ideas of their fellow journalists. This training created new experiences for them in the media world and enabled journalists to use the network alot more.
