Many websites are blocked by the Turkey government. These websites include Youtube along with many other google sites. Youtube has been blocked by the government because, according to the BBC

Many popular sites like Facebook are allowed in Turkey which attract around 22 million users.
Alittle over a year ago the Turkey government announced they would be banning Google services along with their webpages. There has been great debate between Google and the Turkish government. In the past Google did not want to set up a part of their company in Turkey because they would be opening themselves up to critizism by the Turkish government over the content of their websites.

They have banned this site because there were videos critizing the founder of modern Turkey Ataturk. As of now the courts in Turkey are still jailing journalists who defame people in power.
Beside the ban on Google and Youtube, thousands of other webpages have been banned as well. According to Dw.world.de they have been banned under an anti - pornography law. Altough many web users can use proxy servers to get away with the ban, the Turkish courts using proxy servers.

"Turkey ranked 138th".
The European Union has suggested to Turkey that they issue many legal reforms to improve freedom of expression and the press in their country.
