For many years now Google has controlled and monitored the censorship in China's internet. China made a deal with Google to set up a censored internet so that it will limit the people of China from visiting some sites as well as monitoring their internet useage.
Google, last March, shut down its censorship in China because there were to many hackers trying to steal information from Google as well as other people. New York Times States:
"Just over two months after threatening to leave China because of censorship and intrusions from hackers, Google on Monday closed its Internet search service there and began directing users in that country to its uncensored search engine in Hong Kong."
New York Times reporters Miguel Helft and David Barboza go on to say that although the Chinese government was very unhappy, Google did not break any laws in their contract.
It is not always easy to control and restrict everyone who is using the internet. People are always going to find ways to get around internet blocks and internet security as well. When you try to restrict people's internet as a country then more people are going to try and break that internet security then a country who's internet is not restricted. I think the Chinese really need to rethink their restriction of internet access.
