Eye The first annual Student Media Awards Celebration (MAC) was held on Wednesday, April 30th, in The Maguire Theater.  The event went very smoothly and was a great success, thanks to the hard work by students, faculty and staff.  The two guest speakers for the evening, Carol Silva of News 12 Long Island and British Journalist Gary Younge of The Nation and The Guardian served to make the night very special indeed. The 2008 Student MAC Awards were a joint production of The Catalyst student newspaper, the Visual Arts department, the Media & Communications department, the Television Club, and OWWR.
